Stick 'em up!!!Hey Gang!

Here's the latest and greatest starfish events and stuff...

TODAY'S OBSERVATION'S AS OF 3:00 pm on SEPTEMBER 7 2008

Wind Speed and Direction: Northeast at 10-15

Sea State: 2-4 ft

Current: Mild South

Visibility: 80 Feet

Water Temperature: 82 Degrees

This week is temporarily on hold until this wind moves out of the area. That does not look like it is going to happen until Thursday depending on how fast Ike moves out. I do have room all weekend except for saturday morning and all of next week. Come out and celebrate summer with us. Look forward to seaing you all.

LASTEST NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Tropical Storm Fay has come and gone and left us with nothing more then bad visibility and some great hunting. The lobsters walked on Aug. 27. Boy was that fun!! Even the spearfishing has improved since. We had two Grouper on board last week. Have not seen that in a while. Give me a call if you what to join us in the hunt.

Eagle rays seem to be everywhere. We have seen about a half dozen in just the last couple of weeks. We even spotted one swimming along the surface. I hope that they stick around for awhile.

We had our Second Leatherback Turtle sighting of the year and it was a big one. It was spotted on the surface in about 85 ft. of water. We were able to watch it over several minutes. We have also spotted a Hammerhead on several occasions and a Manta Ray has even made a appearance. Great way to start the mating season!!

We have been lucky enough not to have seen any Lionfish in our neck of the reef, unlike our friends to the north. It sounds like they are staying north of Palm Beach County and out in the Bahamas for now. Let me know if anyone spots one

We have been doing a lot of work with Reef Rescue, a non-profit Corporation dedicated to monitoring, preserving and protecting the Coral Reef Ecosystem of South Florida through research, education and public awareness. If you have been following the saga of the Delray Outfall at all, you my have heard that you can fight City Hall. Bowing to pressure from Reef-Rescue and other organizations, we can expect the end of the discharge sometime in the next few years. Special Props to Ed and Terri for there unbelievable work. Check out there web site at www.reef-rescue.org and donate what you can...They do GREAT work!

The Fish is Running daily straight through the end of the year. I look forward to a great Season of bubble blowing. Call to schedule your dive adventure as soon as possible!!!!!!
